*Special Needs* rabbit wants a forever home of his own

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Please adopt me.

Please meet Bunzai, a neutered rex rabbit.

Bunzai was  found after  he was  dumped  in a local park. He  had  some  injuries to his  eye  and  also  his  leg.  After  months of treatment  he is doing well and is now ready to find himself a new home.

He is a beautiful, lovely natured fella who just needs a home with someone  who will keep an eye on those toes.  Bunzai would  probably do well with a companion bunny  as there were  others  found  with him in the park.

To read more about Bunzai please click here.

To adopt or foster  Bunzai  please email info@smallanimalrescue.org

Special Home Needed

A 6-8 week old male guinea pig is looking for a very special home. He is blind in one eye and has some neurological problems…..however he doesn’t know it, so he’s not really sure what all the fuss is about. He can run and popcorn around with the best of them.
We’d like to find him a special guinea savvy home that has had lots experience and is willing to welcome this little fella into their home….and hearts.  He is currently in a foster home in Victoria.
Email info@smallanimalrescue.org for more info.

Easter is coming

Choose chocolate

Encourage parents and children to consider what is appropriate at Easter.  Choose a stuffed toy or a chocolate bun.  There is no retirement home for unwanted Easter bunnies.

March is “Adopt A Rescued Guinea Pig” Month

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

You can't have just one!

We have lots of great little piggers looking for a new home or a new companion.  Guineas pigs should always live in pairs (or more), as single pigs, are lonely pigs.

Click here to see some great guineas patiently awaiting a new forever home.

Rabbit Factory Farm video

Opt to Adopt!

Sadly, this is reality for so many rabbits…and this farm is better than most.  Pet store rabbits come from farms much the same where the females are bred & bred until no longer useful.

Please don’t breed or buy while homeless pets die…Opt to Adopt!

Excuses why people can't keep their pets

I’m sorry but….

People have a variety of EXCUSES why they can’t keep their pets

  • - moving (if you are moving & have a pet, don’t decide to
move to a place where pets are not allowed)
  • - new baby
  • - new partner
  • - allergies
  • - kids have lost interest
  • - too much work
  • - no time, we’re too busy
  • - somone *else* will be able to give it more than I can
  • - we didn’t realize they live so long
  • - kids have left home/gone to school or have a new job

Can you help *one eyed* Moe

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Moe recently developed a problem inside his left eye that unfortunately required his eye to be removed.
In 2007, Moe came to us as part of a large rescue of 19 meat rabbits set loose to fend for themselves in Maple Ridge.
Moe had now his surgery and is doing well.  He currently lives with a group of  bunnies (all altered of course) and his foster mom reports that he acts as though nothing happened to him.

As we all know, vet care is expensive, especially large operations.  In order to help us help him and many others like Moe, we are hoping to fundraise for the cost of Moes surgery.  If you are interested in donating, your donation would be greatly appreciated.  To make a donation, please click on the DONATE tab above.
Thanks!

Moe sees things a bit differently now
